The purity of gold is measured in karats. Pure gold measures 24 karats but is too soft in this state to be used effectively in jewelry. I just received this ring today, and I love it! It's exactly as described, and what a great deal! Being easily noticeable (but not too bulky) is important to me, as I'll want people to know that I'm married without having to look too hard! The 3mm size is small enough to be noticeable without disappearing under my engagement ring, but it's not so large that it takes away from it or adds bulk, either. It's perfect!
I placed my order on a friday and received the ring on the following Wednesday. Even if you go to your local jewelers it takes them 2 weeks to send the ring you want off to get sized. And they cost a whole lot more. The ring looks exactly like the picture and is perfect.
